Your Clients Are Planning Their “New Year, New Me” Right Now. Is Your Coaching Practice Ready?

by | Oct 21, 2026

Most coaches wait until January to market. By then, it’s too late. The people who’ll hire a coach in January are making that decision now, in late October and November, while they’re tired, stressed, and quietly promising themselves next year will be different.

What this holiday season is telling us

The holiday forecasts are full of clues about how people are spending. Deloitte’s 2026 Holiday Retail Survey found that Gen Z and millennials are expected to account for half of holiday spending for the first time, and that many shoppers want experiences, not just things. Other forecasts show people becoming more deliberate, putting money where it means something.

That’s good news for coaches. Coaching is an experience with a purpose. The question is whether people can find you when they’re ready.

Five things to do before Thanksgiving

  1. Name the one problem you solve. “I help women rebuild after divorce” beats “I’m a life coach” every time.
  2. Create a January offer now. A clear start date, a clear price, a clear result. Open early sign-ups in November.
  3. Make a giftable package. Some people would love to give a sister, a spouse, or a best friend three coaching sessions. Make that easy.
  4. Show up where people are scrolling. One short video a week answering a real question beats ten polished posts nobody reads.
  5. Get your name out with real articles. Published articles with your bio and booking link keep working long after you post them.
