True Harmony

True Harmony

I wanted to share the story of my journey to becoming a certified women’s coach and business consultant and the extremely proud owner of Harmony Business and Life Solutions.  Based in Scotland I help many women find their light and claim back their power of self-limiting beliefs within themselves and enable them to see there is far more to their lives than the condition of their old story which leads to my old story I wanted to share with you all.

I feel finally for the first time in my life I am no longer surviving but thriving. Recently I had a massive tattoo of a Phoenix inked on my back so I will always remind myself that no matter where I’ve come from, what I’m going through I will rise and soar higher than before.

I grew up in a little humdrum city in Scotland in an abusive family structure where my father was sexually and physically abusive to myself and domestically violent to my mother. He was a functioning alcoholic and in power within the oil and gas industry. My first memory of him is kicking me across the kitchen with steel toe boots and driving a knife through his arm as my mum tried to leave him. My mother thought I love her dearly had us young became also very abusive to myself and my brother physically often lashing out at us after my father left the household. I didn’t have my own room until I was 16 (I shared with my two my brothers and was thrown out a year later) so I was brought up between my mums and my grandparents and great aunts where I had many many happy times and safe spaces to be me and not a parent to my younger brothers. It was like a parallel universe in comparison to the way I would live with them to mum. Mum brought us up on a council estate where nana and papa were well off and had us to a good school, would take us there and make us breakfast and engage with us whereas mum would make me take my brother of 8 when I was 12 on a bus daily across town. I’m lucky I had them growing up.

This pattern of lack of self-worth and identity carried on for years in my life from being the troubled girl to the party girl to finding myself in my first serious relationship abused by him also. He broke my ribs and face with beatings, used to spit on me, tried to kill me by placing my head in a bin bag, beating me in front of his family and our friends I left him at 23 with nothing more than a suitcase and began life again. Fortunately, I had always been street smart and intelligent (I have always enjoyed learning) so I got a little place and became a make-up artist, rented space, and went back to uni to study business through distance learning. At 25 I had a successful business and decided I had had enough of the humdrum city mentality.

I cut my father off deciding I no longer needed his pick me up and drop me creepy behavior which is the very trigger of me feeling I wasn’t enough to be loved and protected by a man. I moved to Edinburgh and a new story began.

I met another man who I gave my full dived attention and I thought he wasn’t abusive, he had been my friend back home and I changed my whole life for him. You should never need to change yourself for any partner and unfortunately this year 3 days before lockdown in Scotland  I discovered he had a double life and another woman for nearly the four years we were together. He too was abusive but in a way, I had never thought I had experienced. He was emotionally and mentally abusive. He made me feel that only he could love me and no one would ever want me because to him I was damaged goods and didn’t like me having any life so I stopped going out, dressing for me, living, having my friends which were and are my family, he used to tell me I would be better off dead until I acted upon that and tried to take my own life two years ago. To anyone who thinks about suicide, it’s not because want to die it’s because you want the pain to stop. That feeling of nothingness to go away..

After that I knew I had to heal, things had to change but you can’t heal in what makes you sick. You can grow slowly but you will take a step back. After discovering his lies this year my healing ramped up not just a level but a whole new game. I have always had a passion and a dream to help others, even in the darkest times of my old story I still helped others to find the solutions to their own problems.

This year for the first time in my adult life  I came off all antidepressants and anxiety meds. I started seeing a shrink for the PTSD I had been left with and I finished my degree in business management and then carried out a diploma in coaching so I could help other women who had been through things they felt were preventing them from being the queen they are in life. When I chose to believe life was no longer happening to me but for me, the universe literally gifted me my wildest dreams. I have never been so freaking comfortable with my life. I’m happy, I’m healthy and I matter. I’m nobody’s punch bag. I’m a strong independent woman. I have amazing friends and clients that tell me I inspire them from all over. And though the last 30 years haven’t always been the greatest there is something great to take from it all.

As a coach, I don’t just have the formal qualifications of the university but I have my degree in the university of life too.

No matter what life throws at you, you get the choice on how you handle it, the choice who is in your life, and the choice to believe that you should never ever settle for the conditions of hurt, bitterness, or less-ness other people place on you.

Phoenix to the golden flames finds the strength to rise again….

Maxx Angenetta Jones

My name is Maxx Angenetta Jones. My journey started at Harcum Jr. College where I
chose to study nursing and earned my associate’s degree in two years.

Since I am of a practical persuasion, the people-focused nature of the work attracted and
fascinated me. It inevitably led me to decide on counseling as a further career choice.
My counseling career began by working with clients that needed guidance in all areas of
their lives; relationships, personal growth, and of course, with their children.
It was hard but rewarding work.

My education has continued in many challenging ways. I have been certified in Life &
Relationship Coaching from the Orange Country School of Life Coaching.

After which I gained a master’s in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, from the Archeology
Accredited Studies, at the Tony Robbins School of Life Coaching.
Also, I am qualified as a Master Hypnotist and a seventh Path Teacher of Hypnosis. By
immersing myself in these latest theories and treatments, I had the chance to study
healing in a whole new way.

All the advances and various techniques were laid out before me and my thirst for learning
continued unabated.

This also allowed me to include my natural talents as well, as I am an accredited psychic,
Oracle and spiritual healer. My readings through Tarot and spirit have allowed another
deeper facet to my advice.

Over time my counseling focuses evolved. Becoming more and more focused on another
necessary area. My client’s on-going relationship with the Self in their home and business
lives. My experience and innate knowledge combine to help people explore and reveal
their full potential.

To that end, I have joined Life Coaching Today, together with other coaches from all over
the world, fully trained and experienced, we are dedicated to helping our clients.
I have chosen to share what I have come to understand to a wider circle of clients and in
so doing help even more of those in need.

Power Up Your Inner Coach

Power Up Your Inner Coach

“Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes”
– James Allen in As A Man Thinketh

As human beings, we are bestowed with an inner knowing that enables us to consciously choose the
course of our lives. Like a ship’s weather monitoring system, this guidance is ever present to you, the
Captain at the wheel, to sail through everyday life. The question then is, why do we find it so difficult
to make the right choices, to navigate masterfully, not just in rough waters but even when the sea is
calm?
Say, you are about to go to the gym or have a critical work assignment to close or an urgent errand
to run and at that very moment, you happen to pick up your cellphone and look at a YouTube
notification. A voice in your mind tells you of your task at hand but one glance at the video feed
lights up your eyes and another voice says, just watch this one video and by now, you know what
happens next. In Timothy Gallwey’s “Inner Game of Tennis”, he writes about this back and forth
mental game we play and labels these voices as Self1 & Self2.
Now imagine the same dilemma, when it is time to make life altering changes, like a business
purchase, marriage or buying a house. Or maybe you want to rid someone or something damaging
from your life.
At that point, how would it feel to have developed the ability to bank on your own mental and
emotional acumen to decide effectively? How empowering to know that you played this game so
well that those voices turned into Consultant1 & Consultant2 or in other words you created your
own inner coach.
This is where life coaching comes in.
When preparing for my coaching certification, a pre-requisite was to complete one hundred
coaching hours and to accomplish this, I could employ the services of other coaches at various stages
of their own certification. I consider this period to be one of the most elevating experiences of my
life. Two weeks come to mind, where I spoke to five different coaches, to whom I poured out all the
challenges that I had faced since childhood. And as a past life regressionist, the universe kindly
connected me to spiritual coaches too, with whom I shared predicaments from previous lives. I
remember telling a friend that it felt as if five doctors had administered care to different wounds and
I slowly and steadily gained healing. I felt so fortunate to get the opportunity to open up and share
my anxieties and issues with non-judgmental, supportive and encouraging individuals who had
nothing but the best intentions for me. Even after so many years as an executive coach, I was
wonderfully reminded of the power of sharing, deep questioning and planning.
Dear reader, I cite this example to bring to life the fact that your inner coach also needs a voice of
reason to build itself. Of course, you do not need five coaches. But there are times in life when our
inner coach, like a phone battery has just one bar charged and needs to power up to fully support us.

I have worked with over 500 individuals over the last 10 years, from varying backgrounds. As a
coach, it is highly satisfying to observe clients have clarity of thought a-ha moments and take action
during the coaching process but the most fulfilling part is to witness the development of their own
voice of reason, mental fortitude and emotional resilience.
Once your inner coach is powered up, your thoughts crystallize more easily, the decision making
process is clearer and you will find that you have a willing and able partner and teacher within who is
always working on your behalf.
Allow yourself to initiate this process through reflection and self-management. As a practice, find a
quiet corner at the start of the day where you and your inner coach have the space to consult each
other and remember to journal takeaways to refer later during the day. This is an enriching way to
begin self-empowerment and will act as a strong lead in to working with a life coach.

I wish you all the best in this journey, as I quote Mahatma Gandhi who once said
“A Man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.”

What is a Life Coach exactly?

What is a Life Coach exactly?

I want to ask everyone. Do you know truly what a life coach does?

Yes, I post my daily teachings or affirmations and I seem positive. How I live my life, it took me a long time to get to where I am today.

And it still takes work, hence why I have a life coach. Growth, you can not stop it, but it doesn’t mean you know where to start.

Did you know that a life coach doesn’t give advice? So if you call me with a goal or problem I do not tell you what to do. I do not try to fix you. All advice you receive in your life is subjective.

So what do I do? Okay, I want you to think for a second. When was the last time you talked about you, your feelings, your emotions, the spotlight on you? Without judgment, a response, or advice.

Has it been awhile? With me, if you book a life coach session it would be 60 minutes or even 90, and it could be every week. To be listened to without judgment or assumption is a cleansing feeling. Peeling away the layers, bringing out your internal self.

You have a goal, something you want to achieve. With my guidance and questioning and with your trust and your work, together we can see your strengths, your current reality, your values if they aligned with your decisions, and most importantly out of your head with what is stopping you.

Accountability. (Wait, this is how it will really stick this time. This can work.) I get it can be scary to feel vulnerable or put yourself out there, to take that step to reach out, but I found this calling for a reason.

And I myself sit in the client seat of talking about myself and what I want to achieve. It feels GOOD, but the feeling is hard to put into words. Do you want clarity? freedom? Validations of your wins?

Negative feelings or blocks brought out that don’t serve you? Book a FREE Discovery Session with me. And I am a new Life Coach, take advantage of people! Spread the word. I am not Jay Shetty known YET.

This is the time. To meet me, to grow, and to just be selfish which you realize is self-care. Talk about you and your life and needs. I can’t wait to hear from you and hear about your beautiful life. Nothing is ever too small or too big. You have the power, don’t ever forget that.
